The Peterson Company is looking for qualified, experienced drivers. The preferred criteria is listed below. QUALIFICATIONS: * Age 21 w/interstate designation on CDL * Valid class B CDL or higher with insurable driving record * At least 1 year previous CDL driving experience * High school diploma or equivalent DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Preserve truck and product in good condition, load, & unload product in a manner that ensures your safety, safety of others, and the product. Check truck for safety and mechanical problems. Check oil and water levels in truck and refer. Follow all state, local and federal driving laws. * Deliver to correct accounts in a timely manner. Check schedules for route and truck assignment. Check with Driver Dispatcher for credit slips, invoices, promotional material, and keys. Unload from truck and put product into customer-desired location, count case/product for correct numbers and check for any damage. * Collect and verify customer signature on all invoices and receipt of payments from customers. Report and track payments to turn in to Traffic Supervisor and/or A/R department. Collect payment for all COD customers. Verify accuracy of checks or cash in front of customer. * Pick up and load product/back-haul per returned product procedures and credit procedures. Be sure any returned product matches credit slip and is in proper condition. Return product to warehouse by placing on proper return pallet and completing the credit slip fully. Pick up and process back-haul product correctly by verifying product to PO numbers, accepting only perfect condition product, report shortages or problems to purchasing immediately, and checking with Receiving Clerk on where to unload product. * Establish effective and friendly customer relations with accounts serviced on the route. Troubleshoot and resolve customer problems and/or problems with product. Represent the company in a positive manner. Inform supervisor and/or sales representative of information the customer mentions concerning products or problems. EMPLOYER COMMENTS: Hourly wage will ultimately be determined based on prior experience and skill set, there is no cap.
