We have big plans for this year and need people like you to help us spread our roots across the country! The Role- As a Production Associate, you’ll be a member of the team that grows and prepares our standard-setting mushrooms for the shelf. Responsibilities include receiving and preparing materials, maintaining cleanliness, harvesting, assembling packaging, packing mushrooms and ensuring that every finished product meets our quality standards. Working as a Production Associate at Smallhold will expose you to the fundamentals of production, cultivation, food safety, quality assurance, warehouse management and more. Responsibilities- Receive and unload material shipments Prepare agricultural materials for grow rooms Harvest, prepare and process mushrooms prior to packing Pack mushrooms in retail and bulk packaging to exact weight requirements Assist in set up, tear down and clean up of work stations Assemble and break down cardboard boxes Assure quality and presentation of packaged mushrooms Assist with data tracking and logging as needed Clean and sanitize facilities and equipment Adhere to proper practices for food safety Qualifications- Comfort with hands-on, physical work and repetitive tasks Comfort with standing for long periods of time A get-it-done, do-what-it-takes attitude Excellent and consistent attention to detail Comfort with the sometimes erratic schedule of farming (this is not your typical 9-5) Physical requirements: must be able to lift 25 pounds Ability to work in a climate controlled environment (~40 degrees) Experience with food safety is a plus Details- Full-time and part-time opportunities available Early morning and late night shifts required at times Pay: $19.50/hour Location: Vernon, CA
