My 2009 Escape Hybrid has been diagnosed with an internal fault in the hybrid battery by a Ford dealership service dept. However the lift gate was broken prohibiting access to the hybrid system. I was unwilling to spend $400 just to have the lift gate repaired so they could access the hybrid battery, which by them would be $10K to replace/repair. Listening to this YouTube "2008 Ford Escape Hybrid No Start" (See ), at 1:24 the tech says -"There are a lot of different codes that can be set within that high voltage traction battery and they require the 12 volt system to be fully operational in order to flip over the contactors for the high voltage [system to work]". The 12 volt system works fine. I am seeking a qualified hybrid technician like the one in this YouTube video who is willing to conduct a similar and hopefully equally successful diagnostic evaluation and repair at a fair market price.
