Shipping - Receiving Position (NorthWest Side - Chicago) compensation: Commensurate with experience employment type: full-time West Side Manufacturer/Importer looking to fill Shipping Supervisor Clerk/Material Handling Position. This is a "working manager" position. Individual will be responsible for processing all inbound and outbound shipments and managing all inventory in our warehouse. Required Knowledge and Skills Two years of related experience in shipping and receiving Experience working with UPS Worldship and FEDEX Computer Systems Complete understanding of shipping and receiving documents including bill of ladings, invoices, orders, and/or other records Shipping duties include affixing shipping labels, packing slips, etc. on packed cartons/pallets, palletize finished goods, loading shipments, assist in generating required forms/documents and maintenance of logs MUST be able to lift boxes weighing up to 40lbs easily, and for long periods of time. Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, analysis, and decision making skills Work closely with Customer Service Office Personnel to ensure that all orders are shipped on time and complete. Familiarity with shipping, receiving, warehousing, and inventory methods and procedures Ability to plan, coordinate, and organize work to meet deadlines with NO direct supervision and ability to prioritize, as there will often be numerous tasks at any given time Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English Acute attention to detail Maintain accurate warehouse inventory Maintain organized warehouse Coordination of safe and efficient operation of the warehouse Ability to keep a clean and organized work station Job requires majority of the day is spent on your feet Computer skills required for Excel Spreadsheets, Material Handling. Be able to communicate and work with office employees, trucking companies and plan ahead. Assists in preparing for inventories, inventory management and maintaining appropriate stock on hand.
