Description

Look folks, the land can't be used for anything d/t contamination, and as claimed by others, THE FIELD NOT 50-60ft below grade as some person with chromosomes missing, claims. Paving over contaminated soil is cheapest solution for remediation!!! In addition, Lackawanna's tax revenue to the State jumps up due to the new structures placed upon them, therefore NY residents benefit!!!. As for traffic, what do you think Orchard Park goes thru with traffic? Rt 5 and Camp Rd can handle the traffic with no problem, and, back to taxes, another business' tax problems are theirs!!!! In fact, with a nearby Hotel that may be struggling, fans likely who are from out- of town may stay at that location, helping out that business also!!!! The previous poster who rebuttals this message offers NO other alternatives for the Bethlehem site, just BS rhetoric and minimal brainstem activity. BTW, my info is from a source that has multiple degrees in Chemistry and environmental issues; that person is absolutely credible, and has ties to the Superfund. Therefore, again....pave over the toxic garbage and install a Stadium. There is excellent access Southbound and Northbound on RTE 5, to the NYS Thruway via Camp Rd., to Downtown Buffalo via Fuhrman Blvd and the Skyway, adequate parking all over the place, and powerline towers remain in place from the steel mill. A walk-over from the west side of Rte 5 will be also beneficial. Later, additional hotels could be considered on the westward side of Rte 5. Remediation of the soil contaminants would be very MINIMAL. Lackawanna, and the State, would greatly benefit from the revenue, especially Lackawanna which has been decimated by the tax loss from the plant closure. The wealthy and mid-income people in Orchard Park have had their run, now Lackawanna. The GD builders get p***ed-off at this suggestion, as they have been strong-arming business owners when trying to buy everything in and around the Cobblestone area in contemplation of a Downtown stadium which cannot support one.
