LIVERMORE, CA — Six in 10 Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District families do not support a transition into a hybrid school program for elementary students. That's according to the recently released results of the district's elementary commitment survey. Another six in 10 LVJUSD families said they would remain in distance learning, even if the district switched to a hybrid model. Just 16 percent of families said that December is the earliest date that elementary students should return, while the rest voted for January. Regardless, Alameda County is not currently granting elementary school waivers. The county is currently in the most-restrictive purple tier of the state's four-tiered, color-coded COVID-19 risk system.
