Livermore Police Officers Carry Special Olympics Torch

TRI-VALLEY, CA — Law enforcement officers across Tri-Valley joined forces Monday to participate in the 2020 Law Enforcement Torch Run to fundraise for Special Olympics Northern California. Officers ran from team to team, carrying the "Flame of Hope" torch, which is symbolic of the celebration of diversity. The annual event draws about 110,000 officers each year and has raised $18 million since it began in 1996. The Special Olympics Northern California serves some 26,000 athletes, and works with more than 600 schools and nearly 137,000 students. The police departments in Danville, San Ramon, Dublin, Livermore and Pleasanton all participated, as did the California Highway Patrol Dublin office.
