Description

Timberroot Rustic Retreats is a lodging management firm that provides brand and management services to rustic resorts in some of our nation’s most scenic destinations. Our company is tailored to specifically service vacation rental facilities that surround natural attractions like National Parks & National Forests. Timberroot grew out of the only rustic resort in the Chattanooga area called Wauhatchie Woodlands, which is made up of 27 (and counting) tiny log cabins within the high-reaching woods of Lookout Mountain. Wauhatchie Woodlands was built from the ground up with the sole purpose of providing its guests with unique getaways and outdoor immersive experiences. With occupancy rates averaging above 75% and ongoing expansion plans for 2022, we are looking for a trusted individual to join the family at Wauhatchie Woodlands and take part in the growth of our Grounds & Maintenance team. Immediate Responsibilities: As a Maintenance Technician for Wauhatchie Woodlands, you will fill a crucial role within our team by helping triage the daily needs of our collection of vacation rentals, which will require you to balance both routine and unscheduled tasks. Routine tasks will revolve around spa maintenance and groundskeeping and will include such things as draining hot tubs, spraying for pests, taking out trash, running errands, and emptying grills. Your regular responsibilities will of course change seasonally. Changing weather conditions will demand tasks such as more frequent pest sprays, roof and gutter cleanings, pressure washing, weatherization of structures, leaf blowing, debris removal, road safety, etc. Meanwhile, this role will require that you expect the unexpected. Because there are over 30 fully functional rentals on Wauhatchie Woodlands’ campus, a moment rarely passes where there is not a maintenance or repair issue that needs immediate attention. Your ability to efficiently troubleshoot a wide spectrum of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry issues is paramount. The issues that come up with a property with our density span the gamut from busted pipes and broken blinds to WiFi disconnection and power outages. Finally, the planned growth in our business will provide you with opportunity to assist us in development and construction. Our team of skilled maintenance technicians work together to build decks, manage & assist sub-contractors, landscape, finish interiors, etc. This hourly position will require you to work an average of 40 hours per week. You will be scheduled 9-5pm for Wednesday-Sunday for the first 3 months of employment (your training period). You will be required to work weekends since that is when we experience the highest volume of guests, though your schedule can be reevaluated 6 months into your employment. You will report directly to the Maintenance Manager of our Southeast Properties, Jacob Schiller. You will be introduced to all aspects of our operation during your training period by shadowing teammates on the Maintenance and Grounds team at Wauhatchie Woodlands. Your time will be spent getting familiar with your position’s specific responsibilities and expectations while showcasing your unique abilities, talents, and growth areas. Jacob and/or Tyler will work alongside you to demonstrate our team’s mentality at Wauhatchie Woodlands and equip you with what you need to be successful. The training period will vary based upon your experience and skill level. Therefore the tasks delegated to you at all stages of the process will be assigned based upon the knowledge and quality of work that you demonstrate overtime. The hope is that you will be able to independently navigate the complexities of our operation at 4 months and develop into a leadership position within 10-12 months of employment. Jacob and the rest of the team will work with you to identify and apply your areas of excellence, while also strengthening your limitations so that you can confidently take on a broader range of projects.
