Description
LIVERMORE, CA — Extra Livermore police officers have been on hand this month, searching for unsafe and intoxicated drivers.
Additional officers will continue to patrol through Dec. 15. They're looking for people driving drugged or drunk, and people who are driving while distracted, without a seatbelt, and without yielding to cyclists or pedestrians.
"2020 has been a tough year so let's try and end it on a good note by being safe on the road during the holidays," said Livermore Police Department Sergeant Justin Lash in a news release. "Taking simple safety measures helps make sure we can all enjoy the holidays."
The extra patrols are made possible thanks to a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
