Description
I need to rehome my 1-year-old, male, Rhodesian Ridgeback Mix. He is a wheaten with white markings and unaltered tail and ears. He is a very sweet and obedient dog and has basic training which I am happy to teach you the motions and commands for. He is shock collar and crate trained, but really needs a home with a large yard to run around in. I will not give him to a home with small children. He is great with older kids, teens, and adults, but is very nervous around toddlers and small kids. He has never bitten, but he is unfriendly toward small kids when cornered and pulled on, pinched, or smacked (as small children are known to do). He is very playful; he loves to run and chase and play with other dogs and people when given the opportunity but does need to be watched around other more alpha-type dogs as he will try to wrestle with them. He is up to date on all of his shots which I can provide records of and comes with food and water bowls, leash, harness, toys, and a supply of the food we have been feeding him. He is an incredibly loving dog. He is very loyal but still generally friendly with strangers and would make a great emotional support companion. He needs a home where he can be a constant companion, without small animals or children and preferably with a low amount of loud noise. Constant barking, yelling, screaming or other incessant noise does stress him out as he is generally a very quiet boy. He just wants to snuggle and go where you go wherever you go for the most part but will play when given a toy. He rarely barks except to alert us of someone too close to the house and will stop on command and will also bark on command. This is an extra-large dog. He will not finish growing until he is 2 and is expected to top out at 120-130lbs but if you are looking for an oversized lap dog, or a sweet dog that looks and sounds intimidating for deterrent purposes, he would be a great new addition to your family. He is intact and will need to be neutered. I will not rehome him to just anyone, and there is a rehoming fee, but if you are interested, please send me a text or give me a call. Ask for Gia, and we can set up a day and time for you to meet him. If you decide to adopt him, a home inspection will need to be made.
