LIVERMORE, CA — Jenna Madrid of Livermore assumed she'd never see her wedding ring again after it slipped off her finger and fell into her toilet — as it was flushing, NBC Bay Area reported.
The unfortunate flushing incident, which took place in early September, prompted Madrid and her husband to call a plumber, but they were told it was no use.
It wasn't until a friend recommended that she call Livermore's wastewater treatment faciltity, the last stop for of the 300-mile sewer system.
Using a metal detector, Jon Browning, Wastewater Collection System coordinator, was able to retrieve the ring from a pile of gravel and mud, NBC Bay Area reported.
