Organic production farm seeks farm worker

We are a vegetable and fruit farm on 15 acres near Makawao town seeking a laborer 2 days a week (12-16 hours). The farm has over 2 acres in diverse vegetables, hundreds of young fruit trees (2-6 years old), chickens and bees. We are seeking a laborer for a variety of tasks in the coming months including greenhouse and water tank construction, weed eating, chainsawing (our tools), mulching and feeding trees, irrigation work, weeding, cover cropping, composting and more. This is a diverse role, the longer someone stays with us the more they will experience and learn, including becoming a part of our farm community and working in the vegetable gardens. We are looking for a positive, caring, respectful, hardworking, and passionate individual who has a strong interest in agriculture. Good communication skills are required as this is at the foundation of good relationships. Integrity is important to us, we value people following through with their commitments.   We offer a flexible (with good communication) and healthy work environment. It is hard work that requires presence and a willingness to learn, receive feedback, and improve upon efficient methods. You will need to have some experience with 2 cycle engines, live between Kahului, Haiku and upcountry, be a focused worker, enjoy working alone and as a team, and be able to follow directions well.
