Description

I have a 15.2 2003 AQHA mare up for consideration. Her registered name is JC Dude I'm Bright (Minnie) - I am unable to find her papers. She was a 1D/2D Barrel horse in Utah, Colorado, and NM, but has been retired from racing about 5 years. She has experience doing lots of other types of riding, including reining cowhorse-type training and trail riding. She is built like a tank and is a powerhouse. When she's being ridden consistently she's a very "fancy" broke horse - knows how to move her front, rear, collect, extend, roll back, twotrack, etc. Right now she is not being used much besides the occasional trail ride, and definitely needs a tune up. I have gone back and forth on selling this mare the past few years - she's a quirky one with a special place in my heart. I am trying to take a step back from horses for the first time in my life to give both my heart and bank account a break. She has never been bred before, and she will be 19 this month. I could see her being able to do lessons or therapy work under professional supervision & after a tune up - she is by no means a deadhead or bombproof. If she spooks it's a fast startled motion - the kind that gives you whiplash. It's not often, but because of that I would not put a beginner on her. Not a mean bone in her body. Fantastic at lunging- can do figure 8's and all the gait transitions. Loads herself into any trailer (only type I haven't tried is 2 horse straight load, but she'd probably try it). Gets shod every 8 - 10 weeks (I keep shoes on her front). THE CON: She was diagnosed with Cushing's Disease this year by Dr.Wahl at Idaho Equine. We will be starting her on Pergolide soon. At the moment she is kept in a dry lot and fed grass hay. She doesn't currently show any real visible signs of Cushing's, but will likely need to stay on medication the rest of her life. These pictures are a few years old - I will get updated ones of her this week. Email me if you're interested in knowing more about her. All reasonable offers considered.
