Description

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The bridge carrying Limekiln Road over Cooks Run in Doylestown has reopened following a rehabilitation project, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said Friday. The bridge had been closed since late October. Built in 1938, and reconstructed in 1980, the one-span bridge carries nearly 6,000 vehicles a day. The rehabilitation of the bridge carrying Limekiln Road over Cooks Run is part of PennDOT's $7.8 million project to rehabilitate seven poor condition bridges in Bucks and Montgomery counties, three structurally-deficient culverts in Bucks County, and to stabilize a stream embankment at a bridge in Bucks County. The project was financed with 100 percent state funds through Act 89, Pennsylvania's transportation plan.
