HIGHLAND PARK, IL – The Highland Park office of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago and the firm’s philanthropic arm, the Kindness Foundation, have announced that they will donate $1,000 to Beacon Place, an organization that inspires and guides children and families toward a brighter tomorrow. The money is part of a $40,000 pool to be donated to local food pantries this year in place of the company’s annual holiday party. Mark Pasquesi, president and managing broker of the firm’s Highland Park office, said, “Beacon Place does important, recognizing that food and proper nutrition are the basis for strong children and families. With that need met, they offer programs, experiences and opportunities to neighborhood children and families so they can focus on a brighter tomorrow.” Beacon Place was started as a local Waukegan, Illinois community center that delivers programming focused on food and nutrition, overall health, academic support and life skill development. They believe in the power of neighbors helping neighbors and have specialized offerings geared toward kids and tweens and teens as well as parents and families. Core programs at Beacon Place are meant to foster commitment, responsibility, self-reliance and require a commitment to give back. The Highland Park office is one of the company’s nineteen participating offices throughout Chicagoland, as well as in Indiana and Michigan.
