Description

Join us in the Temple for an evening celebrating Ostara. Join us in the Temple for an evening celebrating Ostara. Taking place yearly on the Spring Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere, this is a welcoming back of the sun. As our solar companion moves north across the celestial equator, it begins to rise higher and higher in the sky, and thus the days grow warmer as we witness the wild blooms of spring and the return to life on the barren lands. Ostara is seen as the quickening of the seed that was planted during Imbolc which was lit by the fire of Yule. A celebration of the Anglo-Saxon goddess of the dawn Eostre/Ostara, this can include rabbits, eggs, flowers, buds, and seasonal fruits. We will: -Dine by candlelight with seasonal salad, roasted vegetables, fruits, and fresh-baked hot cross buns! -You are welcome to bring a side dish, dessert, and/or beverage. Coffee, water, and tea are provided. -Share stories in circle -Light the fire of our manifestations with spell work -Create crafts such as a citrus candle -Rebuild our seasonal altar in our shared altar room Ostara is a cross-quarter seasonal celebration according to the Celtic wheel of the year, along with Litha (June 19-22,) Mabon (September 19-22,) and Yule (December 19-22.) This is anchored by the main four seasonal celebrations of Imbolc (Feb 1-2,) Beltane (May 1-2,) Lughnasadh (August 1-2,) and Samhain (October 31-November 2.) Each festival is in honor of an important aspect of the season, and for Ostara that is fertility and life starting anew! Whether you are in or out of the Broom Closet, this gathering is for you! Be on the lookout for each of these holiday celebrations at the Temple of the Rebel Goddess!
