Description

Join your local Muslim community as we break fast during the month of Ramadan! Hello and As-salamu alaykum(Peace be upon you)! The Islamic Society of Greater Lafayette is honored to invite you to our Neighborhood Iftar. For the past few years we have been unable to share the experience of breaking fast with our neighbors in our community due to COVID-19 restrictions. This year we hope to restart this tradition. Ramadan, is a holy month for Muslims across the world in which we observe fasts from sunrise to sundown, pray, reflect, and engage in our community. "Iftar" is the fast-breaking meal observed each evening at sundown during the holy month of Ramadan. The Neighborhood Iftar is an opportunity for all our neighbors to join our Muslim community for an evening meal as we break our fast. The event will include a traditional meal, along with short speeches by community leaders. This year we would like to sit by your side as we break our fast by bringing people of all faiths, races, cultures, traditions, and philosophies together to share and celebrate our diverse humanity. Please join us on April 29th, 2022 at 8pm in the Dining Hall of Purdue University Honors College. 201 N Russell St. West Lafayette, IN 47906. (Corner of 3rd Street and Russell St).
