BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Two weeks after reopening to some in-person learning, one Bucks County high school is already closing again after three new coronavirus cases were reported.
Council Rock North High School will be closed for the rest of the week after three students tested positive for the coronavirus on Monday, the district said in a letter to the school community.
There have been a total of five cases at North in the past week, with three of those reported Monday. Closing the school is consistent with Pennsylvania Department of Health guidelines, the district said.
North students will participate in school virtually for the remainder of the week.
Meanwhile, the district will work on contact tracing and wait to see if additional cases are reported. "We thank you for your patience during this difficult situation," the letter said.
Council Rock students who elected the hybrid option went back to some in-person instruction two weeks ago.
The school board is scheduled to vote on whether to allow five-day in-person classes at its Oct. 22 meeting.
