Physical fitness is key for volunteers to be able to respond during an emergency.
Our next hike is on Saturday, March 12th, at 9am.
We'll hike at the best training area in the city, Griffith Park.
Our Command Post will be behind the Vermont Tennis Courts (2715 Vermont Cyn.).
Go into the tennis court parking lot, drive between the courts and you'll find our command post. If there is someone with a clip board tells you that you are not allowed to, let this person know that the Park Rangers know we are there.
Join us as we conduct an intermediate hike.
We will be hiking from the Vermont Tennis Courts up Vista Del Valle to Mt Hollywood Dr across Hogback and down the Riverside Trail.
To promote our program and present a positive image please wear your favorite CERT or NTP t-shirt. Bring a comfortable pair of shoes, water, a mask and a desire to accomplish the mission. During the hike we'll discuss the location for next month's hike.
Bring your FRS or Ham radio and test your communication skills. Monitor ACS 1, while driving to the CP and we'll use FRS 5 for the hike.
If you want more CERT training opportunities sign up with the Neighborhood Team Program https://join.ntp-la.org.
Several volunteers have suggested we do other hikes. We'll continue with our second Saturday of the month hikes and will have special hikes sponsored by one of our volunteers. Email me at [email protected], to support a hike in your neighborhood.
