GRAYSLAKE, IL — As of Thursday morning, there have been 55 to 59 lab-confirmed cases of coronavirus reported in the village limits of Grayslake, according to the Lake County Department of Health website. In unincorporated Grayslake, there have been 35 to 39 cases. The total population of incorporated Grayslake is 20,903. Throughout the county, there have been 5,779 confirmed cases and 189 deaths, according to the data. The county's department of health does not provide data on the residency of those who have died of COVID-19. Of those deaths, 121 are residents of long-term care facilities in the county. The breakdown of cases in Lake County by age are as follows: 0-20: 410 cases20-39: 1,919 cases40-59: 2,172 cases60-79: 963 cases80+: 325 casesState officials on Wednesday announced 1,677 new cases of the coronavirus and 192 additional deaths — the highest single-day death toll yet — bringing the statewide total to 84,698 confirmed infections and 3,792 known deaths.
