GRAYSLAKE, IL — Many businesses throughout Grayslake have seen their bottom line hit hard in the past six months. Amid concerns over a rise in cases and deaths caused by COVID-19, state officials have put various mandates in place to limit the spread of the virus. During a shelter in place order, many businesses were forced to temporarily close. Since then, the state has lifted many restrictions. Bars and restaurants opened for indoor seating in late June and those with patios were able to serve more outdoors during the warmer months. IL Phase 4: Here's What Reopens, What's Allowed Still, some business have been forced to close permanently because of COVID-19. Others are unsure of how to stay afloat in the coming months. And many business owners we've spoken with in the past six months have told us about the efforts they've made to cut costs and ramp up revenue--many coming up with creative ways to do so. To help us with our reporting, we are asking business owners in Lake and McHenry counties to share how COVID-19 has affected your business.
