Not anymore! The exuberant array of shade plants now found in the nursery industry offer four seasons of excitement. While some options flaunt flowers, other choices bring colorful evergreen or deciduous foliage to the shade garden. This talk focuses on shrubs and perennials for shady spaces that are new to the market or underutilized proven performers. Breakout Sessions -Registrants Choose OneBeginner Garden Photography with Dr. Tom Gallien Learn how you can capture the beauty of garden flowers, wildflowers, and colorful trees and plants with only a simple camera or smart phone. Watch as Dr. Gallien demonstrates proper technique emphasizing subject selection, composition, and color. After this class, you will look at your yard and garden in a new way and make memorable photos that are worthy of scrapbooks or framing. *Please bring your camera or smartphone with you to this session. All About Houseplants with Dr. Bethany Wolters Learn how to care for your struggling houseplants and how to better care for future houseplants. Discover their unique light, temperature, water and fertilizer needs and how to find the perfect spot in your home or office to meet your houseplant’s needs. In this session, Dr. Wolters will demonstrate proper watering and repotting and conclude with a Q & A period for an opportunity to get recommendations of the best houseplant for you. Professional Lawn Care Services: What to Expect with Kevin Whitten Thinking of hiring a company to care for your lawn? Need some landscaping done but don’t want to do it yourself? Find out what to expect when hiring a professional lawn care company including what services they provide. In this session, Kevin Whitten will cover the subjects of lawn fertility and weed control, lawn grass selection, landscaping, drainage, and outdoor lighting. Location/Parking: This event is located inside the Martin Event Center which is located inside the City of Martin Public Library. Attendees can enter through the Central Street doors of the building and parking is available throughout downtown Martin. Time: Doors Open at 8:00 am, Program Begins at 9:00am. Seating is GA for each speaker and breakout session. Tickets: Pre registration is REQUIRED. All attendees must register for a ticket to attend the event. Your registration includes the keynote speaker and 1 breakout session of your choosing.
