JOB DESCRIPTION The Parts Runner Shop Assistant position is responsible for general upkeep of our maintenance facility & parts-storage facility at our shop. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS This position reports directly to the Shop Foreman and/or Lead Technician REQUIREMENTS: A. EDUCATION – High School Diploma preferred. B. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Note: The following duties are descriptive and not exhaustive. 1. Maintains the wash bay facility 2. Ensures equipment is parked in the proper areas 3. Performs light duty maintenance work on building and work areas as needed 4. Pressure washes equipment prior to entering the shop floor 5. Keeps the yard organized and flowing efficiently 6. Assists with cleaning, sweeping, power scrubbing and organizing tools in the shop 7. Monitors inventory levels of crew supplies and shop supplies 8. Delivers and picks up parts as necessary D. SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL 1. Abide by all rules listed in the Ajax employee handbook. 2. Insure all Ajax quality standards are met. 3. Insure adherence to all federal, state, local and Ajax Safety and Environmental Rules and Regulations. E. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS 1. Shop and Maintenance Yard – Work is exposed to outdoor conditions, noise and heat. F. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The essential functions of this position includes sitting, walking, standing, climbing, reaching, bending, trunk movements, lifting minimum of 45 lbs., carrying, pushing/pulling, low level work, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing and talking. G. CHARACTER REQUIREMENTS This position demands an individual with the following personality traits: 1. Self-motivated 2. Ability to be a team player 3. Punctual and dependable H. ATTENDANCE AND RELIABILITY 1. Reporting to work on time, after lunch, and not leaving early unless authorized. 2. Always providing proper notification and advance notice of absence. 3. Not abusing or taking advantage of personal days off. 4. Performing such other duties as may be required.
