Norwegian bunad jeweler and silversmith, Sylvsmidja, returns to Norway House!
Sylvsmidja ReceptionSylvsmidja (pronounced “sulll-smia") is the largest producer of silver for the Norwegian National costume—the bunad. It was founded in 1940 and has 65 employees. In addition to bunad silver, they also produce a jewelry line that is rooted in Norwegian traditions and nature—Spor. Norway House recently hosted an exhibit featuring their bunad silver, jewelry from their contemporary line Spor, the history of the bunad, and the history of Sylvsmidja.
Sylvsmidja has also been working Norway House's BARN - our Business Accelerator Resource Network - as they seek to further integrate their business into the United States Market.
