CARLE PLACE, NY —A Georgia man was arrested after police say he brought a loaded handgun into a teen's birthday party.
According to police, officers were called to the Homewood Suites, locted at 40 Westbury Ave., at 1 a.m. on March 6 for a person in need of medical assistance, as well as a person with a gun.
Police say a party was being held in a hotel room for a 16-year-old boy, who had suffered a cut to his forehead.
During the party, police say Reginald Dalcime, 40, of Roswell, Georgia, got into an argument with another person and then went to his car and got a loaded 9mm Smith and Wesson semi-automatic handgun, and brought it back with him to the party. Police say witnesses helped officers locate the gun, and Dalcime was arrested without incident.
Dalcime is charged with second- and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, nine counts of endangering the welfare of a child, fourth-degree criminal mischief and reckless endangerment. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday in First District Court in Hempstead.
