GRAYSLAKE, IL — As coronavirus cases continue to rise across the state, the College of Lake County announced Thursday that an employee on the campus tested positive for the virus. The employee, whose last day working on campus was March 12, is in self-quarantine at home, according to a news release from the College of Lake County.

The employee worked in the L building on the Grayslake campus, 19351 W. Washington St. in Grayslake, according to the news release. As of Thursday, 37 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Lake County while 422 cases have been confirmed across the state, including four deaths.
3 More Illinois Coronavirus Deaths Bring Death Toll To 4College of Lake County officials are working in coordination with the College of Lake County Health Center and the Lake County Health Department. The L building has been deep cleaned twice since March 16.
The college is also working to collect information from the employee regarding activities and contacts made during his or her last work week, college officials said.
Understanding that some on campus may feel anxious about the news, the college has licensed mental health professionals available to talk students. Students can visit www.clcillinois.edu/CAPS or call (847) 543-2032 for more information.
Earlier in the week, the college closed its campuses to all students, community members and non-essential employees.
