Plane Travels Off Runway At Martin State Airport: Official

MIDDLE RIVER, MD — A jet went off the runway at Martin State Airport on Monday morning, according to officials. Around 11 a.m., a Cessna Citation jet arrived at Martin State but "over-ran the end of the runway," Jonathan Dean, a spokesperson for the Maryland Aviation Administration, told Patch. Two people were aboard, and nobody was injured, Dean said. A fire truck operated by the U.S. Air Force was coming out of the secure entrance at Martin State by 11:45 a.m. Elizabeth Janney/Patch. Both WBAL and WBFF shared photos of the plane, which appeared to have run through a fence at the airport and traveled into reeds near the water. The plane is owned by Ozark Air Services, according to flight tracking company FlightAware. On Monday morning, the jet traveled from Teterboro Airport in New Jersey to Washington Dulles, where it arrived around 9:30 a.m. Less than an hour later, the flight tracker shows the plane took off from the airport near Washington, D.C., before landing at Martin State at 10:48 a.m.
