Greetings from the Funk Project. This is a coalition of musicians with a focus on the genre known as Funk and all its children (from Disco to Techno to Funk Metal). While the Funk Project is not a band, part of its mission is produce events to showcase the talents of the membership. To that end, we need a Core. I have had multiple inquiries from drummers, keys, vocalists, and even a few horns. However, without a bass player, someone well versed in funk bass styles, meaning 'finger funk' (Bernard Edwards, James Jamerson) and 'slap/pop' (Larry Graham, Louis Johnson, Flea), we are unable to move this forward. Can you thump? Do you love the funk? Do you want to want to meet others into The Funk? And if you need an additional incentive, do you want to also make some extra green being part of the core group of these showcase events? And while I make no promises, I can all but assure you that as time goes on, the people you need for both your commercial endeavors and your creative outlets will be easy to find within the organization. Another part of the mission is to serve as an incubator for new bands and side projects. Hit me up! PS. I have it on a good authority that a new band is incubating in the Funk Project. A Red Hot Chili Peppers with a full line up missing one "Flea". This is a sharp unit with a pro guitarist and pro drummer, along with a lead vocalist/rapper who fits the bill nicely. With the right bass player, this could be out the door with a minimum of rehearsal.
