ANNAPOLIS, MD — The Annapolis Film Festival announced its 2022 lineup on Friday. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the festival will screen more than 70 movies starting later this month. The festival kicks off with "To Olivia" on Thursday, March 31. The movie portrays British author Roald Dahl when he was writing "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." The weekend-long event wraps up on Sunday, April 3 with another film about chocolate. This movie, titled "Peace By Chocolate," tells the true story of a Syrian refugee family that opened a chocolate factory in Nova Scotia, Canada. Another highlight is a private showing of "King Richard." This film explores the upbringings of tennis superstars Serena Williams and Venus Williams under the coaching of their father, Richard Williams. Other top categories include the African American Experience, the Jewish Experience, the Environmental Showcase and the Sailing/Boating Showcase. Festival passes are on sale now. These bundle packages run from $75 to $350, depending on which showings are included. There will also be coffee talks, short movies and industry panels. Individual tickets go on sale this Friday.
