1 Critically Injured In Gages Lake Shooting

LAKE COUNTY, IL — A 36-year-old man is in critical condition following a shooting in Warren Township Saturday afternoon, authorities said. The Lake County Sheriff's Office was called to the 33800 block of North Oak Street at around 2 p.m. for a report of multiple shots fired. Deputies began performing life-saving measures on a man who'd been shot multiple times. Paramedics arrived and took the man, who lives in the 33800 block of North Oak Street, to an area hospital, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office. Authorities say the shooter, a male, came to the man's house and shot at the man, who was standing outside, several times before fleeing on foot, police said. The shooting does not appear to be a "random attack," police said. As of Monday morning, detectives in Lake County are still working to sort out a motive and the relationship between the shooter and the man, Lake County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Christopher Covelli told Patch. The incident remains under investigations by the Lake County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division.
