LAKE COUNTY, IL — A 36-year-old man is in critical condition following a shooting in Warren Township Saturday afternoon, authorities said. The Lake County Sheriff's Office was called to the 33800 block of North Oak Street at around 2 p.m. for a report of multiple shots fired.
Deputies began performing life-saving measures on a man who'd been shot multiple times. Paramedics arrived and took the man, who lives in the 33800 block of North Oak Street, to an area hospital, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities say the shooter, a male, came to the man's house and shot at the man, who was standing outside, several times before fleeing on foot, police said. The shooting does not appear to be a "random attack," police said.
As of Monday morning, detectives in Lake County are still working to sort out a motive and the relationship between the shooter and the man, Lake County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Christopher Covelli told Patch.
