COLLINGSWOOD, NJ — The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine is being felt at gas pumps, AAA says. The average driver in Philadelphia's New Jersey suburbs is paying $4.09 for a gallon of regular gas, which is slightly lower than the statewide average of $4.17 per gallon and a bit higher than the nationwide average of $4.06 per gallon, AAA adds. The United States is also close to surpassing the all-time high of $4.11 for a gallon of gas that the country paid for a gallon of gas in 2008, according to the Energy Information Administration. To get the most efficiency from a tank of gas, Consumer Reports advises filling up on regular gasoline instead of premium since it will not make a difference in terms of most cars' performance, checking tire pressures regularly, avoiding unnecessary and sudden braking, and frequently checking websites and apps for the lowest gas prices. One such website, gasbuddy.com, states the Valero at 580 Crescent Boulevard and the Liberty at 701 Crescent Boulevard, both in Collingswood, charge $4.13 for a gallon of regular gas.
