DOWNERS GROVE, IL — More than $2,300 in tools, toilet paper, laundry detergent and other items was stolen from Home Depot in Downers Grove when a man filled a shopping cart and left the store without paying. An assets protection specialist for the company told police a man came into the store at 2000 Butterfield Rd. between Feb. 23 and Feb. 26. The following items were stolen, according to a police report: M18 Fuel miter saw MKE M12 green cross laser MKE M18 5AH battery M12 fuel impact driver M18 fuel impact driver Tide laundry podsCharmin Ultra-Strong 18-pack toilet paper The total loss was valued at $2,330. Anyone with information about this retail theft incident is urged to contact Downers Grove police at 630-434-5600. Downers Grove police did not immediately respond to Patch's request for additional information Monday morning.
