NOTICE OF POSITION THE BRICK PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH  62 EAST 92ND STREET (MADISON AVE. & PARK AVE.) Title: Receptionist – Weekday Evenings & Sundays Midday Reporting to: Director of Administration Classification: Part Time (25hrs) Salary: $25.00 hr. - $30.00 hr General Description: The Brick Presbyterian Church in the City of New York is a prominent, 1,500 member, nationally-recognized, PC(USA) congregation on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. We have a 250-year history of traditional worship, Christian education, mission outreach and regular fellowship programs. The church is also home to the highly regarded Brick Church School, which provides early-childhood education to over 170 children. The Receptionist – Evening Workdays and Sundays Midday – serves as greeter, gatekeeper, and steward of the Brick Presbyterian Church facilities in representation of the Church and School community. They also will assist the Director of Administration in completing administrative tasks. The role consists of welcoming and attending to visitors, deliveries, mail, phone calls and supporting facilities staff in responding to maintenance or event requests as well as acting as security support. Equally, they will be tasked with supporting departments with administrative tasks on an as needed basis, which may include, but is not limited to, assisting with preparing of and sending out letters for campaigns, invoice processing, updating reports, creating sign-in logs for events, crafting internal communications, filing, and other clerical jobs. Responsibilities Summary: Serve visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately.Notify staff of visitor arrival.Ensure that visitors comply with all entry requirements and log in upon arrival.Maintain and assist in updating registers.Answer phones and route calls to corresponding staff or departments. Take and relay messages. Maintain and assist in updating directories. Answer inquiries about organization and calendar events. Assist with booking meeting spaces and with coordinating their set ups and deliveries. Update appointment calendars. Oversee incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries. Perform basic bookkeeping, filing, and clerical duties. Send email, faxes and other communications when needed or when requested by supervisor. Maintain security by monitoring cameras, issuing visitor badges and following security and emergency protocols. Manage the appearance of the reception area. Support building operations by serving as the point person and coordinator of the Plant Services staff when the Facilities Manager is not on-site. Provide general support to other departments as directed by the Director of Administration. Skills and Knowledge Required: High school diploma or GED; College degree in business administration preferredAt least two years of training or experience in customer service and office workComputer proficiency (Microsoft Suite and Google Suite).Strong verbal and written communication skills demonstrating clarity, confidence, and tact.Skilled in working with others and following guidance and instructions.Ability to work independently and take initiative to problem solve. Impeccable ethics and integrity. Additional Requirements: COVID-19 – Full Vaccination including boosters.Ability to lift 25 pounds.Part-time position working On-site from Monday to Friday 5:00pm – 9:00pm and on Sundays from 8:30am to 1:30pm.
