ROCK GARDEN COLONY INTRO- Recently a very kind and caring family reached out to us regarding a colony of cats & kittens living nearby in a new housing development in San Luis Obispo. After the family tried to feed the kitties it became apparent they were dealing with a large number of cats and needed assistance. Our amazing TNR team sprang into action and successfully trapped 8 adults and 3 kittens! Fortunately, none of the kitties were feral, instead quite friendly and not terribly timid of humans. As they become available for adoption, we will post them under this heading. So far, Don Julio, Jaeger, Malibu, and Patron are ready for new homes. DON JULIO’S BIO This young lad, about 1-year-old, is so playful we rarely see him quite. He thrives on adventure, he has no fear of conquering any climbing challenge, and certainly needs an equally active feline buddy to curb his high-energy and keep him entertained. He's curious, toys are a great distraction, and he loves playing with fingers and tackling toes. He’s incredibly friendly but can be picky about when he wants affection; you'll need to be careful not to over stimulate him. When it's time to settle in for the night, expect this darling kitty to curl up and snuggle with you! Update: We've discovered that Don Julio is extremely zealous and would probably need an experienced hand in tamping down his feistiness. JAEGER’S BIO This darling black beauty, around a year old, is the definition of sweetness! If you're looking for a good-natured girl who has a calm disposition and wants nothing more than to be loved, Jaeger is meant for you. Her affectionate personality will be the cherry on top! She is curious but a tad shy; she's made a comfortable spot for herself in the closet, preferring a bit of quiet time now and then. You can easily persuade her to come out for a visit and some pets. She loves exploring new spaces, how about opening your heart and your home to her? MALIBU’S BIO How could your heart not melt when you look into to those bright and slightly fearful eyes? Our gorgeous girl, about a year old, is semi-feral and is new to the "indoor" world. She is still quite scared and shy of humans and will need a sensitive and calm family to take her under their wing and help her through the journey of accepting people. The volunteers find her very sweet and that she tolerates pets and being held. We know with patience she'll come out of her shell and blossom into to a loving companion. You could be that special one to provide the security she needs to grow. PATRON’S BIO Wow, this 1-year-old kitty has such striking markings; she's bound to catch your attention! Our pretty girl has a quiet & calm nature, is overly friendly, and is happiest when she's bundled up in a cozy space. If you're looking for a real sweetheart and you're willing to provide her, at her request, a life of luxury and comfort, than she is just right for you! Update: Patron has been showing off her athletic skills; cleverly climbing up and down the kennels, dashing around the shelter chasing after whatever catches her eye, and joyfully playing with toys the volunteers dangle in front of her. She has more energy than we realized! When she's spent, she'll find a cozy bed to curl up in.
