Additional manpower was requested from the North Sea Fire Department; heavy rescue units were at the scene for about 45 minutes and the Southampton Fire Department chiefs and fire police also assisted with road closures, officials said. "A great job was. done by all — and many forget the unsung heroes, the dispatch unit. The Southampton Village Police dispatch unit did an amazing job," the Southampton Fire Department said.
