OCEANSIDE, NY – A smoke shop employee is in stable condition after a man confronted and shot him in the store Sunday afternoon.
According to the Nassau County police, an unidentified male walked into Da Smoke Spot, at 230 Merrick Road, and confronted a male clerk at 3:19 p.m. The two had an argument, after which the man took out a handgun and discharged two rounds, striking the 26-year-old employee in the chest once, police said.
After the man fled the scene, the clerk was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in stable condition, according to police.
The shooter was described as around 5-foot-9 with a light complexion. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, a baseball hat and a black mask covering his face. He was carrying a black/red duffle bag on his shoulder and a second black bag across his chest.
