Description

I'm not talking about some stereotype "jamband" poser shlock. And I'd prefer people who don't put Metallica on the same level as the Beatles. Yes, I grew up listening to classic rock- the gamut....I followed that into complex psychedelic stuff, prog, fusion, then to simple tribal rhythms of funk/soul/world, then through post punk/ no wave/ industrial/ goth. Alternative music. They all mix country, blues, folk, classical and every other relevant root style......with the goal BEING INTERESTING TO LISTEN TO. Yes, even your classic rock heroes did that! Seems to be lost on a lot of people posting here. I'm looking for players coming out of the fog of COVID, vaxed, ideally over 30, with good ears, not even thinking of telling me "they're rusty"- so fucking lame (can you tell I've been on CL before?).....I'm not a virtuoso, my fingers are stiff, less is more if you know what you're doing....either you have rhythm or you don't. I'm not interested in someone's immediate agenda for 4 minute pop-formatted songs with boring lyrics. By "less is more", I'm not talking about confining the possibilities. I can host a small group of people who know how to play off each other. By listening. I don't pass the bar of Berklee people who improv thru the common tongue of theory. What I know is through challenging myself on guitar, moving one finger to a new fret while playing that same old chord. If you'd like to make bleeps and blips on my synths, that would be a worthy contribution, if you have an ear. Guitar players/ bass players who like effects: excellent. Sax, horn, flute, contrabassoon or oboe with effects: that would be mighty grand. My basement is non-smoking, equipped for recording and available early weeknights or weekend days in a quiet bedroom community. I have a PA, drums, keys, bass/cab and guitar amps. Bring what makes you comfortable to play and doesn't take 30 minutes to set up. I'd like to jam. That's mostly "rhythm focused", in my book. Bring riffs, to be sacrificed and dissected by the participants. Maybe after some chemistry actual songs or some type of musical material can be refined.
