Happy Steps Preschool has two spots open now (and another spot opening in September, if you'd like to secure it early before anyone else does)! We also have a waitlist available. Our home-based preschool program is for potty-trained children ages 2 through kindergarten. Happy Steps is at the highest level of licensing for in-home child care: Certified Family (because of this, DHS covers most or all of the tuition for full-time and part-time families, if you're on the ERDC program). This means we meet far higher standards for safety, cleanliness, and annual ECE classes/trainings for our teachers and assistants. Our structured program supports children in their socio-emotional development -cultivating strong self-esteem and positive relationships with others, facilitates exploring the child's natural interests and talents, and helps build the necessary skills to do well in kindergarten! We provide a nurturing and stable environment for children to do their best learning and growing! Our group size is smaller than a center or large school, as well. Our class size is usually only 6-8 children (occasionally up to 10). We provide wholesome, mostly organic meals and snacks (our menu is vegetarian, but parents are welcome to provide additional ready-to-eat meat for their child's day, as needed). Our curriculum fosters a love of learning and supports the children in learning basic math concepts, reading and writing, basic Spanish, gardening, science and eco-friendly concepts, music, art, sensory play, and so much more.
