GLENVIEW, IL — Steve Rockrohr is no longer the athletic director at Glenbrook South High School. The Glenbrook High School District 225 Board of Education announced his resignation Monday night following a closed session as part of a special meeting.
The board unanimously accepted the decision by a vote of 6-0.
Rockrohr has been the athletic director at Glenbrook South since 2002. In 2017, Rockrohr was named the Athletic Director of the Year by the Illinois Athletic Directors Association.
The Northfield Township High School District posted a job opening for an interim athletic director on Sept. 16 on the Frontline Education website.
Last month, a school administrator at Glenbrook High School District 225 was placed on administrative leave. Officials for the district told Patch at the time that they will remain on leave pending a complete investigation.
"As an educational institution, we have a responsibility to uphold strong values of respect and dignity," said Karen Geddies, communications director for the district. "We believe that every person deserves to be treated in this manner, and we work diligently to create an inclusive culture that supports these values."
District 225 did not release the name of the administrator or the reason for the decision at that time. The district would not confirm it was Rockrohr.
