GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. ARRESTS LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT Curtis Carter, 28, of the 1900 block of Jackson Avenue, Evanston, is accused of leaving the scene of accident, driving with a suspended/revoked driver's license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, following too closely, and was arrested following a traffic crash investigation at 7:19 p.m. Sept. 23 in the 1100 block of Waukegan Road. He was released on $2,500 bond, and was assigned a court date of Oct. 15. After posting bond, he was released into custody of the Evanston Police Department for an outstanding warrant for battery. DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL Steven Gordon, 50, of the 2100 block of Robincrest Lane, Glenview, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, and was arrested following a crash investigation at 11:47 p.m. Sept. 23 in the 1900 block of Johns Drive. He was released on a $1,000 bond, and assigned a court date of Oct. 20. Gerardo Fortozo, 34, of the 3100 block of North New England Avenue, Chicago, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to report a vehicle accident, and was arrested following a crash investigation at 3:20 a.m. Sept. 26 in the 4000 block of West Lake Avenue. He was released on $1,000 bond, and assigned a court date of Oct. 14. INCIDENTS AGGRAVATED IDENTITY THEFT A Forest Drive resident reported at 9:09 a.m. Sept. 22 receiving a notice from the Illinois Department of Employment Security that their unemployment benefits were approved. The resident never filed for benefits. There is no personal loss. THEFT A resident in the 900 block of Burton Terrace called police at 1:17 p.m. Sept. 22 to report someone stole a sign from the front yard. The reported loss is $4.A resident in the 3600 block of Maple Leaf Drive reported at 3:35 p.m. Sept. 22 someone stole four unsecured bicycles from the front of their driveway. The reported loss is $270.A park patron called police at 8:43 p.m. Sept. 23 to report someone stole an unsecured bike from the park in the 2100 block of Central Road. The reported loss is $300.A park patron reported at 8:01 p.m. Sept. 25 an unsecured bicycle was stolen from the park in the 1000 block of Milwaukee Avenue. The reported loss is $120. A resident in the 1000 block of Central Road called police at 3:29 p.m. Sept. 26 to report someone stole a sign from in front of their property. The reported loss is $5.An employee of a business in the 4300 block of Di Paolo Center reported at 12:51 p.m. Sept. 28 a customer returned a product for refund, but did not enclose the originally purchased item. The reported loss is $550. BURGLARY A resident in the 2500 block of Waterview Drive called police at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 22 to report a vehicle parked in the parking lot was entered and money was missing from the center console. The reported loss $2,600. HARASSMENT BY ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION A resident in the 2300 block of Winnetka Road reported at 8:42 p.m. Sept. 22 receiving a warning through social media. ASSAULT A park patron in the 1000 block of Zenith Drive called police at 10:49 a.m. Sept. 23 to report another patron approached him threateningly. IDENTITY THEFT A Golf Road resident reported at 3:52 p.m. Sept. 23 someone withdrew money from their bank account without authorization. The reported loss is $325.A Fir Street resident called police at 4:43 p.m. Sept. 25 to report someone attempted to open a Small Business Administration Loan using their personal information. There is no loss.A Waukegan Road resident reported at 2:27 p.m. Sept. 26 someone used their credit cards numbers without authorization. The reported loss is $5,000.A Dauntless Drive resident called police at 1:46 p.m. Sept. 27 to report receiving a letter from the Illinois Department of Employment Security containing a debit card for unemployment benefits. The resident is still employed and suffered no loss. UNWANTED SUBJECT An employee in the 900 block of Waukegan Road reported at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 23 someone was angrily peering into the front windows. CRIMINAL DAMAGE A resident in the 1900 block of Robincrest Lane called police at 7:01 p.m. Sept. 23 to report someone entered onto their property and damaged a flag. The reported loss is $5.A resident in the 4100 block of Cove Lane reported at 3:32 p.m. Sept. 28 someone damaged the locks on their front door. The reported loss is $100.DISORDERLY CONDUCT A motorist in the 1900 block of Chestnut Avenue reported at 5:51 p.m. Sept. 24 another motorist walked over to their vehicle and berated the driver for their lousy driving.An employee of a business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road called police at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 25 someone burning rubbish behind their building. There is no loss.An employee of a business in the 2100 block of Central Road reported at 12:20 p.m. Sept. 26 a man was staring at tennis players on the court. BURGLARY FROM VEHICLE A resident in the 3200 block of Potter Road called police at 12:08 p.m. Sept. 25 to report someone entered their unlocked vehicle parked on the driveway during the overnight hours and took money from inside. The reported loss is $7. FRAUD A resident in the 2100 block of Inverness Lane reported at 6:22 p.m. Sept. 25 receiving an email from their supervisor requesting gift cards be sent to an e-mail account. The supervisor never authorized the purchase. The reported loss is $1,000. AGGRAVATED BATTERY A taxi driver in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road called police at 10:20 p.m. Sept. 25 to report a passenger started hitting him with their cane. NOISE COMPLAINT A resident in the 1000 block of Vernon Drive reported at 7:45 p.m. Sept. 26 hearing loud music. BATTERY An employee of a business in the 700 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 9:27 p.m. Sept 26 to report two customers were fighting in the store.An employee of a business in the 1800 block of Tower Drive reported at 4:05 a.m. Sept. 27 intoxicated men were fighting in the rear of the building.TRESPASS An employee of a business in the 2600 block of Aviator Lane called police at 9:50 p.m. Sept. 26 to report an intoxicated customer refused to leave the business.An employee of a business in the 1800 block of Tower Drive reported at 10:24 p.m. Sept. 28 someone, after previously being warned to stay away, was on the property.TELEPHONE HARASSMENT A Charlie Court resident called police at 1:10 p.m. Sept. 27 to report receiving several unwanted telephone calls.A Sunset Ridge Road reported at 9:09 a.m. Sept. 28 receiving an unwanted telephone call, text and e-mail.RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY A resident in the 1600 block of Monterey Drive called police at 9:14 a.m. Sept. 28 to report someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked on the driveway, took a garage door opener from inside and then entered the garage and the two cars stored therein. The reported loss is $50.A resident in the 4400 block of Pynsky Road reported at 3 p.m. Sept. 28 someone forced open a front door and searched the interior of the house. A debit card was taken. The reported loss is $250.
