Description
I adopted Taz from Reno Humane in May. He is an awesome dog! Super goofy and loving, but he has a had a rough past and needs a lot of loving one on one attention to get his anxiety down. The first few months went great with my boxer and cat, and then I had to start working more. Taz started acting out more stealing things off the counter and finding creative ways to get at the cat food. This was only a problem once I started working more and he had more hours at the house unsupervised. A month ago I got him a kennel, he now goes in there when I work. I really want to keep him, but this isn’t fair to him. He is getting more anxious, he has a lot of energy and needs to be ran (played fetch with) until he is tired almost daily. My boxer Lucy loves him and it kills me to even start asking to rehome him, I just do not feel like the right fit. He is chipped, current on his vaccines, and more trained than when he got here. He is VERY neurotic. Whoever had him before kicked him and hit him often. He also seems to have been locked outside in the cold for extensive hours as he has massive anxiety being in the yard without a human, even if another dog is around. He will pace and wear a track into the ground from him pacing and whining and panicking. He is not aggressive, and he loves to play. Tazua does not bark a lot but loves to howl and sing in excitement. He is really the sweetest and I am going to be very careful screening people for his best fit for a forever home. No kids unless they are teenagers and good with animals, he needs a fenced yard, and a human that does not work full time. Taz would love to be a road dog and see more sights and smell more smells in his old age. Poor guy doesn’t seem to have gone on many adventures in his life and he desperately deserves and needs it. Are you Tazua’s perfect match? There will be a small re-homing fee of $50.
