GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. ARRESTS WARRANT Matthew Struk, 32, of Glenview, is accused of having an active warrant out of Lake County, and was arrested at 11:50 p.m. Oct. 22 after officers were called to a well-being check. He was transported to Lake County Lockup, Waukegan, and turned over to Lake County Sheriff's Office. FAILURE TO APPEAR IN COURT Andre Hernandez, 26, of the 1100 block of Route 41, Gurnee, is accused of having an active warrant out of Cook County for failure to appear in court, and was arrested at 11:05 p.m. Oct. 23 in the 2400 block of Sanders Road. He was released on a $5,000 bond, and assigned a court date of Nov. 24. DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL Matthew Felish, 22, of the 3200 block of Coral Lane, Glenview, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol, possession of cannabis, speeding, and was arrested at 7:25 p.m. Oct. 24 in the 1500 block of East Lake Avenue. He was released on a $3,000 bond, and was assigned a court date of Dec. 9. INCIDENTS IDENTITY THEFT There were more than 20 reports, from addresses across the village, indicating identity theft involving the Illinois Department of Employment Services and unemployment benefits. In some cases, residents received debit cards from the Illinois Department of Employment Services for unemployment benefits they had not applied for. Some cases were also designated aggravated identity theft. A Sequoia Trail resident reported at 2:52 p.m. Oct. 22 someone applied, and was approved, to purchase a car using their personal information. There is no reported loss.A Winnetka Road resident called police at 1:17 p.m. Oct. 24 to report someone used their personal information to open credit accounts without permission. There is no reported loss.A Robincrest Lane resident reported at 3:57 p.m. Oct. 26 someone ran credit reports in an attempt to purchase a vehicle using their personal information. There is no reported loss. THEFT A customer of a business in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road called police at 2:43 p.m. Oct. 20 to report batteries for a Cochlear hearing device were never returned upon discharge. The reported loss is $1,300.A Barrington resident reported at 12:17 p.m. Oct. 21 they met with a person in the 2500 block of East Lake Avenue to buy a telephone and later discovered the telephone was stolen. The reported loss is $620.A resident in the 4500 block of Concord Lane called police at 1:45 p.m. Oct. 22 to report jewelry was missing from their bedroom dresser. The reported loss is $11,000.An employee of a business in the 1800 block of Tower Drive reported at 9:49 p.m. Oct. 22 a customer failed to pay his bill. The reported loss is $66.An employee of a business in the 2300 block of Waukegan Road called police at 10:58 a.m. Oct. 26 to report someone rented a vehicle and never returned it. The reported loss is $17,000.A resident in the 4500 block of Seminole Drive reported at 3:10 p.m. Oct. 26 someone took parts off their vehicle while it was parked on the driveway during the overnight hours. The reported loss is $830. ORDINANCE VIOLATION A dog walker called police at 7:11 p.m. Oct. 20 to report being bit by another dog in the 4100 block of Crestwood Drive. A resident in the 1000 block of Vernon Drive reported at 7 p.m. Oct. 23 excessive noise coming from the 1000 block of Waukegan Road.A resident in the 1000 block of Vernon Road called police at 8:27 p.m. Oct. 23 to report excessive noise coming from the 1000 block of Waukegan Road. DISORDERLY CONDUCT A resident in the 2000 block of Valley Lo Lane reported at 9:55 a.m. Oct. 21 someone pointed a laser at them. A resident in the 2200 block of Colfax Avenue called police at 4:03 p.m. Oct. 22 to report someone called and made a threat. CRIMINAL DAMAGE A resident in the 1800 block of Silverwillow Drive reported at 1:48 p.m. Oct. 21 their front window was shattered. The amount of loss is unknown. HARASSMENT BY ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION A Glenview Road resident called police at 2:02 a.m. Oct. 22 to report receiving threatening text messages. TRESPASS An employee of a business in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 4:37 p.m. Oct. 22 a customer blocked a door and refused to leave when asked.A resident in the 2400 block of Waukegan Road called police at 3:28 p.m. Oct. 25 to report someone walked into their residence uninvited and used their telephone.A resident in the 800 block of Queens Lane reported at 8:40 a.m. Oct. 26 someone was on their property without permission.DISPUTE A mail carrier in the 2000 block of Tower Drive reported at 2:27 p.m. Oct. 23 a resident used profane language in a mail delivery dispute. TELEPHONE HARASSMENT A Glenview Road resident called police at 4:29 p.m. Oct. 23 to report receiving an unwanted telephone call from someone who stated he was holding a family member hostage. An employee of a business in the 1000 block of Waukegan Road reported at 4:36 p.m. Oct. 22 receiving unwanted telephone calls.BURGLARY FROM AUTO A guest of a residence in the 1400 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 7:36 a.m. Oct. 24 to report someone broke a window on their vehicle parked in the lot during the overnight hours and took two laptops and a wallet from inside. The reported loss is $2,800. RETAIL THEFT An employee of a business in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 1:46 p.m. Oct. 24 someone left the store without paying for merchandise taken from a display shelf. The reported loss is $750.An employee of a business in the 2400 block of Sanders Road called police at 12:47 a.m. Oct. 25 to report a customer took soft drinks and candy with the intent to deprive the store of payment. There is no loss.BURGLARY A resident in the 1800 block of George Court reported at 4:02 p.m. Oct. 24 someone entered their unlocked vehicle at 0230 hours and took a purse from inside. The reported loss is $1,900.A resident in the 100 block of Parkview Road called police at 8:16 p.m. Oct. 24 to report someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked on the driveway during the overnight hours and took a purse from inside. The reported loss is $200.An employee of a business in the 1100 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 7:01 a.m. Oct. 26 someone broke into a shipping container and took construction equipment from inside. The reported loss is $7,510.An employee of a business in the 1100 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 7:01 a.m. Oct 26 to report someone entered a trailer and took power tools from inside.
