Your local American Foundation for Suicide Prevention chapter is organizing a slew of upcoming events in Orange county and invites you to join in. AFSP-OC is looking for people of all backgrounds and abilities with some free time to be part of the effort to fight suicide at a local level. Individuals or teams/families/businesses/organizations wanted. Interested in any of these? Reply for more information. March 12 (Sat)- Swallows Day Parade This is a perfect opportunity for our community outreach! Parade walkers needed! Physical ability to walk about a mile or two down the streets in downtown SJC. March 19 (Sat)- Not sure what community outreach is about? We will have a training on community outreach at our in-person volunteer meeting on Saturday, March 19, 9:30 – 11:30 AM. The meeting will be in Irvine. Email for more details. We would like to take this opportunity to gather and meet face-to-face with our volunteers and express our appreciation for all that you’ve done. In addition to the “business” part of the meeting, refreshments will be served, and we will have a discussion and demonstration about community outreach. All volunteers are more than welcome to bring a guest. March 26- Art in the Park Community outreach table event in Santa Ana. April 30 (Sat) Hike or Ride Event (Volunteers needed day of event and beforehand) Our first in-person Spring Event since 2019 will take place at Orange County Harley-Davidson in Irvine. We are excited to welcome motorcycle riders & hikers that participate in this year's event to a culmination gathering. There, we will have a car show, barbecue, live music, & more! Vols needed for pre-planning and be at event tables.
