GLEN ELLYN, IL — The number of coronavirus cases in Glen Ellyn has increased by 6 percent in the past week, according to information from the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD). As of Sept. 23, the village had reported 534 total cases of the new coronavirus. Those numbers had increased to 568 as of Sept. 30. In nearby Wheaton, the number of coronavirus cases had increased by 4 percent. As of Sept. 23, there had been 727 cases reported in Wheaton. The total number of cases reported in Wheaton as of Sept. 30 was 759. According to the DCHD website, there were four active coronavirus cases in Glen Ellyn as of Sept. 30. In contrast, there were two active cases in Glen Ellyn on Sept. 23. According to county health officials, these numbers could be "much higher" due to unreported cases.
