Teen Sweetens Day For Front Line Workers With Cupcake Deliveries

ROSELLE, IL — When you talk to Kendall Stein, it's obvious that the 17-year-old is brimming with love. Stein told Patch a love of animals initially made her want to work in the veterinary profession, but now she's turned that love into her very own baking business, donating cupcakes to front line workers throughout DuPage County amid the coronavirus crisis. The Roselle teen funneled her love for other people into Smenge, a business that combines her passion for baking with her passion for making other people happy. She told Patch, "I had always grown up baking with my mom and my grandma," adding, "It was truly my favorite thing to be doing." Nora GormanOnce the coronavirus shutdown hit, Stein donated dozens of cupcakes to the Roselle Fire and Police Departments. She then teamed up with her Aunt Nora to bring cupcakes to front line workers at Edward Hospital and the Edward Hospital Cancer Center. As one might imagine, the cupcake deliveries have been a real hit. Stein told Patch, "Everyone is always so brightened because I think baked goods really hit people's heart." Stein isn't stopping there. Next up, she's planning to brighten the spirits of workers at Lisle Fire Department and Central DuPage Hospital by donating some of her delicious cupcakes.
