Hello, My name is Devin and I'm a film documentary student putting together a short project about interviewing members of the general public and gaining insight to their feelings, thoughts and overall sentiment about the situation between Ukraine and Russia. Often times, I feel history is written by government and officials and sometimes leaves out the voices of the common individual and their thoughts/feelings about historical events as they are drowned out by official statements or documents written by people far disconnected from the common person. This is project is meant to capture what members of the general public have to say about this situation. This project is meant to be a chance to capture the voice for the common people's. Think of it like a time capsule for your voice thoughts and opinions on this historical event. Do you support the Ukrainians? Do you think the US should be involved? Do you have family or loved ones in Ukraine? Are you worried about this conflict potentially spiraling out of control? Have you thought about this situation much? This is your chance to use your voice as an individual to genuinely speak for yourself. No one else gets to speak for you in this project. It's purely you and your opinions/thoughts/feelings/etc. I'm not a professional filmmaker or interviewer, I'm just a student making a film project. This won't be screened anywhere besides maybe YouTube for my class to see. Release forms will be signed and we can blur your face or do some voice overs if you'd rather keep your privacy though on camera interviewees are preferred People with strong or well thought out ideas/thoughts are encouraged to participate!
