Deckhand position available on a salmon fishing boat in Bristol Bay, Alaska for June through July, 2022. Bristol Bay is the largest wild salmon fishery in the world. The work is hard but rewarding and crew are paid a percentage of the boat's gross earnings, which means that the harder we all work the more money we all make. Some commercial fishing experience is ideal, or a least labor experience and fast hands. I cannot stress this enough: fast hands. Good attitude, respect of others, and a sense of humor are also necessary. Great job for a college student looking for adventure who needs summer work. I live in the Skagit/Whatcom county area and I will interview candidates locally in person before hiring. This is because bringing someone to Alaska for the summer is a big commitment and it works best if we can meet first.
