LAKE FOREST, CA — Crown Ace Hardware in Lake Forest is shutting its doors, the store announced over social media.
The Lake Forest Drive location will cease operations in "mid to late October," the store manager told Patch.
Crown Ace Hardware is offering rock-bottom discounts at this location as they prepare to close up shop. Everything, even the store shelves and fixtures, must go, they say.
Crown Ace Hardware began operations in 1949 in Corona Del Mar, which will remain open, Patch was told. Owned by Mark Schulein, along with 16 other shops across Orange County, Inland Empire, Lake Havasu City, and North Shore, Kauai, the Lake Forest shop is the only one that is closing in Orange County, Patch was told.
Though this location is shuttering, Crown Ace Hardware will continue to operate the six other Orange County shops.
"We are expanding and remodeling at other stores," Patch was told. "We appreciated Lake Forest, but it was time to move on."
They did say the move is not related to the coronavirus closures.
As for store employees, the company will take care of everyone who wants to stay on with the organization, they said.
