Description
I have 2 Sulcata tortoises that are 8 and 9 months old. I don't know their genders. I bought them on Labor day of 2021. The tortoise enclosure is white but really cedar wood. It is 38" left to right and 12" top to bottom, and 24" front to back. The house they go into is 12" of that 38". In side comes with a half log for them to crawl under. I will throw in a brand new bag of filtered bark dust exclusively for pets. They will come with their water dish and some extra romaine lettuce and pellets. The lights on top are the costly ones you find in the pet store. One shows 2 lights in one housing. One is a UV light and the other is a heat lamp. They both have independent switches. The other light is just a heat radiator that is aimed at the flat rock in their enclosure. As you notice in the pic, there is a mount that goes under the enclosure and allows the lamp to hang on it. It is telescopic in that you can raise the hanger or extend it out. It was used with the tank so it was less hassle to take it down to get in and out of the tank. There are thermometers for heat and humidity on the inside wall of their enclosure. I also have their original enclosure that they came with which is a 45 gallon aquarium with a cool lid. I'm throwing it in with them as I don't need it. It has a stickem underneath heat pad ideal for snakes, not tortises. The top of that aquarium has a slide off and on locked screen, also ideal for snakes and reptiles. The tortoises were named after the ninja turtles by my kids but do they really know their name? I take them out once a week nad put them in a pie tin with water to let them crawl around. I also paste their top shell with water during "bath time" No soaps. just water. They love to go outside in the warm weather with a top enclosure to prevent hawks and crows from sneaking in while you have your back turned. They will eat the grass and dandiliions. I think they are still too little to keep outside for longer than an hour and certainly not unattended. My son in laws parents have a big one that taps on the sliding glass door when he wants in or out so they are domestic. Their rehoming fee is for them and everythingat $500.
