Description

Our goal and focus is to unify every nurse across every healthcare setting to produce significant reform to our healthcare system. Our Main Focus is to Change the Face of Healthcare: - HR 1195 Workplace Violence Prevention for Health Care and Social Service Workers Act - HR 3165 Nurse Staffing Standards for Hospital Patient Safety and Quality Care Act of 2021 - HR 666 Anti-Racism in Public Health Act of 2021 - Bring Awareness of the Implications of Pay Caps Support All Frontline Healthcare Workers (MD, NP, RN, LPN, CNA, RT, EMT, & FireFighters) Purpose Statement: Current legislation in place touches on Workplace Violence, and Safe Staffing Ratios, with a Call out to End the Cap of Nursing Pay. These are serious issues where this march is for the healthcare worker that feels alone, silenced, and left behind. Incivility in nursing, including racism, discrimination, poor morale, mental illness, addiction, and the rising suicide rates among nurses. The American Nurses Association (2018) did a survey on 14,000 nurses and 62% reported verbal and physical abuse from patients (equating to approx 8,600 nurses); 1 in 4 nurses* is physically abused (Risoldi & Bolvin 2019). As a result, the nursing workforce is down over 18%* and the numbers increase by the day. Nurses and frontline healthcare workers are leaving their professions in groves. This IS a Call to Action for Change NOW!
